City crews who spent Monday edging and trimming grass on U.S. 90 medians in Biloxi hope to have their work completed sometime Tuesday, according to Public Works Director Richard Sullivan.
The three teams of about 60 workers will begin work Tuesday morning shortly after 7 and continue working throughout the day on the center and outside medians in both the eastbound and westbound lanes.
Intermittent lane closures will be required near worksites, and motorists are advised to use an alternate route, such as Pass Road or Irish Hill Drive, if possible. Police will be on hand to keep traffic flowing safely on U.S. 90.
The work is being done to help improve the appearance of the medians for Cruisin’ the Coast, which is expected to increase traffic between now and Oct. 12.
On Wednesday and Thursday, workers will concentrate their efforts on major north-south city thoroughfares, with minimal lane closures expected.
