Biloxi A to Z: What you need to know about the air show

The Thunder Over the Sound air show takes place this weekend and those attending can get details in today’s A to Z report.

Keesler gates will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Activities will include a STEM expo, static displays, and various aerobatic performances featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. The main performance location is south of the Biloxi Lighthouse from I-110 to Acacia Avenue near Miramar Park.

Those attending activities on base must access Keesler by way of a shuttle bus unless they have a military ID. Those attending by boat may do so but are permitted from entering the show box area which will be marked by large white buoys. And those attending along U.S. 90 should park in public parking areas, respect private property, and be patient because traffic is expected to be heavy in the air show area.

Pedestrians should cross at designated locations, such as lighted intersections or pedestrian crosswalks along U.S. 90. The air show is expected to wrap up each day around 4 p.m.

Also in today’s video: maps of no parking areas, food trucks south of U.S. 90, water buoys, shuttle bus parking lots, and pedestrian crosswalks.
