Biloxi A to Z: Spring break traffic and more

This week’s video features safety tips for the increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic expected this weekend during spring break.

Biloxi Police Officer Jonathan Johnson asks the public to prepare for the thousands of visitors anticipated to travel along Beach Boulevard and the beachfront this weekend. Officer Johnson also reminds the public about the special events traffic plan in place for any major event that impacts the roadways.

News & notes: Weekly reports, B-Alert, lighthouse cam, town hall meeting

B-Alert: Stay in the know about road closures, road re-openings, and other traffic advisories by signing up for B-Alert. It’s a real-time, on-the-go messaging system that brings advisories directly to your cell phone. Just text BILOXI to 99411.

Lighthouse cam: It’s a live feed used regularly on local TV stations and, from time to time, on The Weather Channel. It’s the city’s Lighthouse camera, and you can see it now by clicking here. (Anytime you want to see it, click on the Lighthouse at the top of the city’s website, biloxi.ms.us.)

Town hall meeting: The Biloxi City Council will host a special called town hall meeting on Tuesday, April 15, at 6 p.m. at the Biloxi Civic Center. The topic of the town hall is city-wide homelessness. The meeting will follow a regularly scheduled city council meeting taking place at 1:30 p.m. at Biloxi City Hall.
