Biloxi A to Z: East Biloxi road work, community center, and more

Biloxi A to Z: Today’s video features an update on road work east of Oak Street and a look at the plans for a new East Biloxi Community.

Crews with Necaise Brothers Construction have begun preparing roads east of Oak Street and north of Beach Boulevard for the final layer of asphalt. The new pavement is expected to be placed next week.

Over on Lee Street, the site for a new community center is clear and plans are moving forward for a more than 13,000-square-foot facility to be built on Lee Street south of the Salvation Army Kroc Center. The community center, estimated to cost $3 million, will include a basketball court, restrooms, and meeting rooms. Designs, funding sources, and construction plans are still in progress.

Today’s video also includes details on the record-breaking sales tax collections, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at the Edgewater Mall as well as other weekend events, a look at the weekend forecast, and a ceremonial march with the Biloxi Police Department.
