Biloxi A to Z: Dancing, softball, swimming and more

A to Z: This week’s video features upcoming events in the Biloxi Parks & Recreation Department.

In celebration of Older Americans Month, the City of Biloxi and Harrison County are looking for dancers for their annual Dance Competition and Health Fair.  They are also showing pottery from local senior citizens during an exhibition at the Biloxi Visitors Center throughout the month, beginning May 8 with a free reception.

Summer fun is beginning in Biloxi at the Parks & Recreation Department with adult softball and swimming. The department has opened registration for its Adult Softball League weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Park office in Hiller Park. The league is open to men’s and co-ed teams of players eighteen and older and includes a registration fee.

Over in the aquatics division, registration for its summer swim league, the Biloxi Red Tide, opens on Monday and continues weekdays at the Biloxi Natatorium from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Swimmers must be 18 or younger and able to swim one length of the pool. Fees also apply.

And, in preparation for the upcoming Juneteenth event, the Biloxi Parks & Recreation Department is looking for vendors for its annual celebration set to take place June 14 on the Biloxi Town Green. Those interested should complete a registration form and pay the vendor or food truck booth fee. Details for each event listed above are available online at biloxi.ms.us/pr.
