Biloxi A to Z: This week’s video features the recent Biloxi Chamber Breakfast with the Mayor event and road work set to take place on Eisenhower Drive at Beach Boulevard.
Wednesday morning, Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilcih addressed a chamber audience at the Hard Rock. Mayor Gilich gave a status report on many city projects, including the Popp’s Ferry Extension which is waiting bid approval, and the A.J. Holloway Sports Complex where new turf has been added and sod is being laid on the soccer fields. He also talked about the soon-to-rent upstairs apartment at the Barq’s building, the new Biloxi Police Department training and Administrative Support facility, and the Point Cadet Marina floating docks. And, Mayor Gilich also displayed the design for the future Welcome to Biloxi sign that will go at the foot of the I-110 Bayview exit on Bayview Avenue.
Also in this week’s video: Motorists traveling southbound on Eisenhower Drive will not be able to access eastbound Beach Boulevard beginning on Monday because of infrastructure work. Biloxi Police are seeking applications for its annual Citizen’s Police Academy with an application deadline of Aug. 6. And, a look at where to watch city council meeting recording, what the weekend weather is forecast, a list of weekend events, and a view of the Coliseum Pier.
