Biloxi A to Z: Headlining this week’s video is the September BNews Monthly. BNews is arriving at Biloxi addresses this weekend and features updates on the A. J. Holloway Sports Complex, the recent Biloxi Sports Hall of Fame inductees, and information on an upcoming restoration plan for the Old Brick House on Bayview Drive. It also includes, random notes, the Biloxi Pulse column, the Biloxi Shuckers and Keesler Air Force Base columns, September trivia, a reminder of where to find the latest infrastructure update. community calendar, the BTV schedule, information on the latest Biloxi Cooks episode and recipe, and everyone’s favorite, the Back in the Day column.
Beginning Tuesday, Beach Drive, the service road from Walmart Lane to Debuys Road, will be closed to traffic 24 hours a day through Friday, Sept. 27, while crews install new water mains. In that same area, “Old” Eisenhower Drive will remain closed to through traffic until Friday, Sept. 6. This closure is also in effect 24 hours a day. And, Popp’s Ferry Road from Rustwood Drive to the bridge will have intermittent lane closures beginning next Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day while work crews restripe the roadway. The work is expected to be completed by Thursday.
All non-emergency city offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2, in observance of Labor Day. However, the Biloxi Visitors Center will be open through the holiday.
