Beware of COVID scams, warns police chief

Biloxi Police are seeing a rise in scams during the coronovirus pandemic and want the public to beware.

“There have been several email scams that have been identified where it appears that the information is coming from the CDC,” Biloxi Police Chief John Miller says in today’s Be Prepared video update. “If you need information. Go straight to the CDC website and get the information from there.”

Miller also asks the public to beware of fraudulent products as well.

“Do your background check on companies,” he said, “and make sure they are legitimate companies or that they exist at all.”
