Ball park opens at 5 for State-Texas Tech

Gates open in less than an hour, at 5 p.m., at MGM Park for the opening game of the Hancock Whitney Classic, with Mississippi State facing Texas Tech, and Biloxi Shuckers GM Hunter Reed says baseball fans will like what they see as Biloxi’s downtown ball park ushers in another season of baseball.

“We’ve been working on this a long time, getting ready to show off the park for another season,” says Reed, whose Biloxi Shuckers open their season in less than a month. “We’ve renovated the sky box, and we think people are going to be impressed with the new Kloud 7 venue. There’s a lot of fresh signage throughout the park, and we’re ready.”

First pitch is at 6 this evening. First pitch for Game 2, on Wednesday, is at 5 p.m. Tickets are $15 for each game, or $12 for berm seating. Tickets are available now at MGM Park box office.

“State was in here last night for batting practice,” Reed said. “They’re excited to be here, and, in fact, both teams are in the park right now, Texas Tech and Mississippi State. They’re both ready to play, and we’re hoping for a great turnout for some great college baseball.”
