August BNews has murals and more

The new issue of BNews Monthly, the city’s compendium of All Things Biloxi, will be arriving in homes and businesses across the city Wednesday and Thursday.

The 24-page, advertiser-supported city newsletter includes updates on Biloxi’s need to respond to Census 2020, the “Mask Up Biloxi” COVID-19 initiative, the Biloxi Main Street murals project, city finances, work on a new city park at Eagle Point, a new camera-registry crime-solving tool in the Biloxi Police Department, and a conversation with Harrison County Emergency Manager Rupert Lacy, at the midway point of the 2020 hurricane season.

BNews Monthly for August also includes tips on how to help protect the city’s new drainage systems and local waterways, the monthly Community Calendar, infrastructure progress maps, and August listings for BTV, the city’s municipal TV channel.

And Back in the Day columnist Jane Shambra marks the 28th anniversary of legalized gaming in Biloxi with a two-page look back at the city’s fascination with gambling.

BNews Monthly is published by the city and is mailed by the first of each month to every postal customer in Biloxi: all homes, businesses, apartments and PO boxes. The August newsletter and 26 previous issues are also online at biloxi.ms.us/bnews.

The civic-minded advertisers making the August issue possible are Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort, Edgewater Mall, Mississippi Power, Merit Health Medical Group, Palace Casino Resort, The Blake at Biloxi, Treasure Bay Casino and Hotel, and Biloxi Public Schools.
