“This, too, shall pass, but not just yet,” is the front-page headline in the new issue of the city’s monthly newsletter, which features the latest on coronavirus-related announcements from the city.
The April issue of BNews Monthly also contains an explanation of the need for social distancing, the latest on local emergency-response protocols, how to reach city offices now that walk-in traffic has been restricted, and detailed information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Although the newsletter is an abbreviated version – 20 pages instead of the usual 24, without a Community Calendar, and with minimal advertising – it still contains a few longer reads for the homebound: Nick L. Shrimp on executive decision making, a Back in the Day story on the history of Biloxi City Halls (Biloxi moved into its current City Hall on April 2, 1960), and since April is the 50th anniversary of Apollo 13, there’s a centerfold of Apollo 13 astronaut Fred Haise and his “Love Letter to Biloxi.”
Also included in the April issue is a column by Garrett Greene of the sidelined Biloxi Shuckers, with a photo of an SRO-crowd at MGM Park. The headline? “Wow. Can you believe this was just weeks ago?”
