A weekend blast; a flood of issues; other news and notes

Add the Discovery Channel to the gaggle of national media types in town this weekend and into next week, with the Sunday morning implosion of the Grand Casino’s Island View Hotel and the approaching June 1 beginning of hurricane season.

Council faces flood of issues

The issue of how high new homes may need to be constructed in a post-Katrina Biloxi will be nearing its third month of discussion and debate when the Biloxi City Council meets Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
