Gaming revenue off for 13th straight month

Biloxi’s gross gaming revenue for July was 10 percent off July of last year, marking the 13th month that gaming revenue has been below the same month for the previous year.

Biloxi’s eight casinos reported gross gaming revenue of $79.4 million for last month, higher than the $64.6 million from June, but $8.2 million off July 2008, when the monthly drop in casino gaming revenue actually began.

Comparing fiscal years, Biloxi had collected $19.1 million in gaming taxes for the first 11 months of FY ‘08, compared to $16.7 million for the first 11 months of FY ‘09, a drop of $2.4 million or nearly 8 percent.
