Cruisin’ The Coast returns to Biloxi Oct. 4-11, bringing increased traffic throughout the city. Drivers should expect delays along Beach Boulevard (U.S. 90) and on roadways leading into Biloxi.
To help drivers and visitors prepare for the week, here are some important traffic tips, parking and RV reminders, and event information to keep in mind during Cruisin’ The Coast.
- Traffic cones will be placed along Beach Boulevard from DeBuys Road to Rodenberg Avenue.
- When necessary, Beach Boulevard may be limited to two lanes of traffic.
- When necessary, the right lane will be used for regular traffic, and the left lane will be reserved for emergency vehicles.
- Follow all traffic signs and instructions from law enforcement.
- Do not block traffic or go around barricades.
- Obey posted speed limits.
- Service drives along Beach Boulevard will close at 10 p.m. unless otherwise posted and may close earlier at the discretion of the Biloxi Police Department.

RV parking rules and regulations
Property owners who plan to allow visitors to park an RV on their property at no charge during a Tier 1 event, such as Cruisin’ The Coast, must obtain an affidavit for RV Parking from the Biloxi Community Development Department, 676 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., and return it to the department. An affidavit is also available on the special events webpage.
Property owners who intend to rent or lease space for RVs during Tier 1 events are required to obtain a parking permit of $50 from Biloxi Community Development and comply with certain standards. The standards include, but are not limited to, such regulations as a maximum density of one recreational vehicle per 750 square feet; a parcel’s setbacks clear of any recreational vehicle; a minimum of eight feet separation of vehicles from each other and from other structures; and $10 per space per night.
Downtown Biloxi Block Party
Wednesday, October 7 — Downtown Biloxi
The Downtown Biloxi Block Party begins at 8 a.m. Cruisers are encouraged to arrive as early as 5 a.m. to park.
- All event-related parking will enter at Reynoir Street at MLK Boulevard.
- Parking areas will be filled in numerical order as vehicles arrive.
- Lameuse Street and Howard Avenue will be one-way streets during the event.
- Lameuse Street: southbound traffic only from MLK Boulevard to Beach Boulevard.
- Howard Avenue: eastbound traffic only from Reynoir Street to Main Street.
- Parking outside designated event zones must follow all parking laws.
- Cruisers leaving the event should use caution around pedestrians.
- Later arrivals will be subject to available parking.
Entertainment & Activities
The Downtown Biloxi Block Party will feature hundreds of Cruisin’ cars, live entertainment, restaurant and shop specials, and awards.
Entertainment:
- 8:30 a.m. — Ty Taylor & Gram Rea
- 11 a.m. — Garry Wesley, Elvis Tribute Artist
- 12:45 p.m. — Special Awards & Trophies
- 1 p.m. — The Project Band
Trophies will be awarded in several categories, including lowest vehicle, largest fuzzy dice, fattest rear tires, most chopped top, most chrome, longest distance driven, longest painted flames, The Peoples Bank Cup, Mayor & City Council Cup, and “The car I’d most like to chase” Cup.
Parking
- Public parking and cruiser parking areas are available throughout downtown.
- Overflow cruiser parking will be available.
- Follow the directions of law enforcement when entering parking areas.
- Park only in designated or marked spaces.
- Do not park in medians or on sidewalks.
- Respect private property.
Safety Rules
- Do not block traffic.
- Follow instructions from police officers and traffic personnel.
- Cross roadways only at designated locations such as intersections and crosswalks.
- Keep sidewalks and boardwalks clear for pedestrians.
- Do not move or go around barricades.
- Burnouts are not allowed.
- No riding on tailgates, bumpers, roofs, or hoods of vehicles.
- Motorcycle operators and passengers must wear helmets.
- ATVs, UTVs, and other unlicensed vehicles are not allowed on roadways, beaches, sidewalks, or boardwalks.
- Licensed low-speed vehicles, such as golf carts, are permitted only on designated roadways unless registered as a parade participant.
- No littering.
- No glass containers.
- No underage drinking.
- No animals in event areas.
- Amplified sound is allowed only with an approved permit.

News & notes: Weekly reports, gift shop, Special Needs Halloween
The week that was: Last week, the Community Development Department issued 128 permits with a total valuation of more than $550,00 Meanwhile, the Fire Department responded to 146 calls, and the Biloxi Police Department reported 2119 calls for service. To see the weekly reports, click here.
Visitors Center gift shop: Beginning Thursday, Oct. 1, the Biloxi Visitors Center gift shop will open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, contact the Biloxi Visitors Center at 228-374-3105.
Special Needs Halloween: The Biloxi Parks & Recreation Department will host its annual Special Needs Halloween Costume Ball on Friday, Oct. 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Donal M. Snyder Sr. Community Center, 2520 Pass Road. The event is free and open to all ages with physical and mental disabilities. For more information, click here.
