The Biloxi Police Department is inviting businesses, organizations, and service providers to take part in the Biloxi Police Department’s annual Festival Against Crime set for Saturday, Sept. 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Point Cadet Plaza.
The popular community event attracts hundreds of visitors and provides an excellent opportunity for local businesses and organizations to introduce residents to their products, services, and programs while joining in on an afternoon of family fun and community spirit.
Participants can set up a booth, volunteer, or donate. There is no charge to participate. Vendor and participant setup begins at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 12.
Visitors to the event will have an opportunity to meet Biloxi police officers and firefighters and see specialized equipment and demonstrations. Previous festivals have featured the police department’s dive and rescue team, bomb squad, traffic and bicycle divisions, K9 demonstrations, firefighter equipment and emergency-response vehicles.
The festival uses a festive, block-party atmosphere to build neighborhood unity and pride, strengthen partnerships between residents and law enforcement, and provide information about crime prevention and the many services available to the community.
The afternoon also will include games, prizes, giveaways, free food and activities for children and adults, making the festival an ideal setting for businesses and organizations to connect with Biloxi families.
