B-Alert is back with a new number

B-Alert is back and ready to keep residents and visitors informed while on the go.

The City of Biloxi’s text messaging notification system provides timely updates about weather, traffic, road closures, flooding, and other emergency advisories directly to mobile phones. The city has offered the B-Alert system since 2018 and is now launching a new and improved platform with a new text number.

To sign up, text BILOXI to 77295.

The city transitioned to a new provider earlier this year after its previous notification company experienced a cybersecurity breach and worked to rebuild its system. During the past six months, the city continued monitoring the situation before moving to the new RAVE Alert platform, where staff have trained and developed a new alert database.

The upgraded system will help provide faster emergency notifications to the public while also assisting dispatch operations by reducing call volume during major events and emergencies. Traffic and roadway alerts can also help motorists avoid hazardous areas, stay clear of emergency responders, and reach their destinations with fewer delays.
