Lighthouse Artesian Festival on Saturday

Nearly 60 artists and craftsmen will showcase a variety of handmade works, from jewelry to pottery, books to paintings, and even several food trucks, during the Ninth Annual Biloxi Lighthouse Artisan Festival on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Biloxi Visitors Center. This rain or shine event will be held on the facility grounds and inside the beautiful Biloxi Visitors Center and admission is free!

“This event celebrates the hands of our local artists reflected in creative works,” said Visitors Center Manager Onnie Gazzo. “We love having this special day to feature artists inspired by the beauty of our local community.”

Visitors will be able to climb the spiral stairs of the historic Biloxi Lighthouse during one of the free tours offered on the hour between 9 – 11 a.m., weather permitting. Visitors will also have the opportunity to tour the Biloxi History museum on the first floor, see the exhibits, and watch films on Biloxi history and Hurricane Katrina in the theater on the second floor. Honoring the fallen: The Biloxi Police Department will host its annual Fallen Officer Ceremony on Wednesday, May 13 at 10 a.m. at the Lopez-Quave Public Safety Center, 170 Porter Ave. The public is invited to pay homage to all law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.
