The Biloxi Parks & Recreation Department is rescheduling its Christmas on the Water Children’s Parade and Lighting of the Town Green because of the forecast of inclement weather.
The two events, set for Friday night, will be moved to Monday, Dec. 15. The Christmas on the Water Children’s Parade will still begin at 6 p.m. with check-in at 5:15 p.m. on Reynoir Street at the Saenger Theatre. Those interested must complete the participation form and return it to the Parks & Recreation Department. The deadline to participate has been extended to Monday, Dec. 8.
As for the Lighting of Town Green, it will also begin around 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, with the main event taking place after the parade arrives at the Town Green.
Both events are free to attend.

News & notes: Lighthouse, boat parade, water pressure
Lighting of the Lighthouse: The public is invited Thursday evening, beginning at 5:30 p.m. to the rain or shine event inside the Biloxi Visitors Center, 1050 Beach Blvd. Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich will flip the switch to light up the historic Biloxi Lighthouse in Christmas red and green, signaling the beginning of the Christmas season in Biloxi. Christmas on the Water Boat Parade: This Saturday, beginning at 6 p.m., boats will parade in full holiday décor along the Mississippi Sound with a fireworks show after the parade. Best viewing locations along Beach Boulevard between Biloxi Small Craft Harbor and Casino Row. For details, call 228-617-3112.
