Lighthouse Christmas lighting Thursday

Christmas events officially begin in Biloxi on Thursday with the Lighting of the Biloxi Lighthouse at 5:30 p.m.

The public is invited to this rain or shine event inside the Biloxi Visitors Center, 1050 Beach Blvd., where Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich flips the switch to light up the historic Biloxi Lighthouse in Christmas red and green, signaling the beginning of the Christmas season in Biloxi!

Santa Claus will make an appearance, hot chocolate and cookies will be available, and the Nativity Children’s Choir will provide joyful caroling. “This is always one of our favorite events of the year,” said  Onnie Gazzo, Biloxi Visitors Center manager. “The Visitors Center is decorated for the holidays, and the voices of the Nativity Children’s Choir fill the air with Christmas cheer.”

Staff from the Biloxi Visitors Center will also be on site selling this year’s city ornament and Christmas shirt, both inspired by the iconic 1848 Biloxi Lighthouse. To see the flyer, click here.
