If you pass by or dock in the Commercial Docking Facility or the Point Cadet Marina, you may hear some noise going on. That’s because the facilities are getting some much-needed dressing up.
Earlier this month, staff with the Port Division moved shrimp boats from the Commercial Dock to the Point Cadet Marina to open up the docking facility for contractors to begin Zeta repairs. The 90-day project, which is set to begin Tuesday, includes the replacement of concrete and electrical panels and pedestals that went under water during Hurricane Zeta in October 2020.
The Commercial Dock will be closed until the repairs are made. Â
Over at the Point Cadet Marina, in addition to the shrimp boats, the site will soon gain nearly two dozen floating docks. The concrete docks, which will be similar to the ones located at the Palace, will be situated in the marina between the Golden Nugget and Margaritaville.
Improvements involve contractors removing pilings, dredging, and installing concrete docks.
The work began earlier this month and is expected to be completed by the summer.
The Commercial Dock has 55 slips, and the Point Cadet Marina has 246. Both have shore power and water hookups. All of Biloxi’s harbors are patrolled 24 hours, seven days a week by harbor masters. Slip rentals range from $6 to $10 per foot, depending on the vessel’s electrical needs.

Bluffs neighborhood: On Tuesday, contractors will begin road repairs at the intersection of Rustwood Drive and Woodfield Lane. This work is expected to take up to two weeks. During the work, motorists are asked to enter Popp’s Ferry at Bluff Ridge.
Beauvoir Road: The south portion of Beauvoir Road will be closed at U.S. 90 to through traffic beginning Tuesday morning. The closure is expected to be in effect until Feb. 1, 2023. Businesses on Beauvoir Road will still be accessible from Pass Road.
