City seeks nominees for volunteer awards

The City of Biloxi is seeking nominations for individuals, organizations and businesses for the “22nd Annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony,” which takes place Wednesday, April 20, at 5:30 p.m. at the Biloxi Community Center on Howard Avenue.

Special awards will be presented to individuals for outstanding volunteer of the year in five categories: health, community, education, sports, and arts and history. An overall winner also will be selected as Distinguished Volunteer of the Year. Awards will also be presented to organizations and businesses as well for their community service.

Nominators should write a complete narrative and include a picture of the nominee performing volunteer work. Nominee forms must be turned in no later than Friday, April 8. Nominations will be reviewed and winners selected by a committee of Biloxi citizens. All nominees will be receive a Certificate of Achievement during the April 20 ceremony.
