Creel and McGilvary headed for a runoff

The field of five candidates for Ward 4 Council member was narrowed down to two this evening when the polls closed at the Margaret Sherry Library and Fire Station Complex.

A total of 1088 votes were cast in the special election to fill the vacant Ward 4 seat with the majority of the votes going to Jamie Creel with 319 votes and Rodney McGilvary with 291 votes. Lara Bernich Alley received 127 votes; Kim Compton-Saucier received 182 votes, and Dan Hunter received 167 votes.

Once the absentee ballot deadline is met on Tuesday, June 25 at 5 p.m. with votes postmarked on or by election day, the Municipal Election Commission will certify the results.

The special election runoff is set for Tuesday, July 9 at the Margaret Sherry Library and Fire Station Complex.
