Visitors Center

The Bond-Grant House, which serves as the city's temporary Visitors Center, was built in Queen Anne style with neo-classical character.

The house was constructed between 1904 and 1907 by seafood pioneer-philanthropist William K.M. Dukate as a wedding gift for his daughter Vera, who married B.A. Bond. She later married R. Hart Chinn, who served as mayor of Biloxi from 1933-35 and from 1951-53. Vera Dukate Bond Chinn lived in the house until 1921, when it was purchased by W.J. Grant and family.  Nearly 50 years later, in 1964, the Grant family sold the house to First Baptist Church of Biloxi.

The Beau Rivage Resort & Casino later bought the property on the south side of Howard Avenue where the home stood, and in January 2006 donated the house to Biloxi Main Street. The house was moved to the north side of Howard Avenue, and in March 2006 a restoration project began.
Restoration was completed in May 2008, and the house became the city's temporary Visitors Center since the previous Visitors Center on the Town Green was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. A permanent Visitors Center will be constructed north of the Biloxi Lighthouse.
