Salary: $13.65 – $19.11 Hourly

Performs semi-skilled work in maintaining the vehicles and mechanical equipment of the department. Works under the close supervision of the mechanic and mechanic supervisor. Checks and rotates tires; changes oil and replaces filter; and changes light bulbs. Performs general janitorial duties for the garage. Vacuums and washes vehicles. Picks up and delivers parts as needed by the garage. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Must have knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the automotive trade and principles of the operation of engines and mechanical repair methods. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift weights up to 100 pounds.
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; some experience in the automotive trade or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the requirements of the job.
Must have valid Mississippi Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
