Performs a variety of routine and complex clerical, secretarial and technical work in the current planning programs of the city and development and implementation of land use and related policies and regulations. Works under the daily supervision of the Planning Division Head. Performs routine clerical and administrative work, inclusive of but not limited to the following: answering phones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance and referral; provides information to employees, citizens and general public; filing; transcription of tapes, and other duties as assigned or required. Answers in-coming calls and routes callers; or provides information as required. Provides information on land use applications, ordinances, codes, plans and related planning programs, services or regulations to architects, engineers, developers, contractors, owners, community groups and interested persons.  Other duties as assigned.

Desired Minimum Qualification:

Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as typing, filing, accounting and bookkeeping; and three (3) years of increasingly responsible related experience, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.
