Performs a variety of complex professional technical and instructional functions in managing the City of Biloxi’s personal computer systems. Plans, implements, and maintains computer workstations and the associated software to provide up to date reliable computer workstations and network connectivity. Works under the general supervision of the Information Systems Manager. Upgrading and maintaining the City’s computer systems and peripheral devices. Installing, configuring, and testing hardware and software for personal computers and network servers. Managing the day-to-day maintenance problems with the City’s network. Maintains an information system (LAN/WAN) to ensure optimum efficient transfer of data.  Resolves workstation network/hardware/software problems and prevents recurring problems within the organization. Supports such diverse areas as data processing, network facilities, personal computer, and citywide network configurations. Resolves complex network/hardware/software problems and prevents recurring problems within the organization. Provides support to end users in the selection, procurement, usage and maintenance of software programs and hardware.

Education and Experience:

Graduation from a two-year college with an Associate’s Degree in business

management, education, computer science or a closely related field, and

two (2) years of experience in a similarly situated position. Any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience. Preference will be given to Microsoft Certification(s), A + certification, networking experience and computer repair experience. Must have a valid State of Mississippi driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
