Performs routine public contact and surveillance of the pool as a lifeguard. Performs safety work in assisting and/or teaching swim lessons and serving as a lifeguard. Maintains the facility by performing janitorial maintenance and other duties for the upkeep of the facility. Assists in teaching, teaches occasionally, and assists in maintaining records of swimming lessons according to a prescribed routine and curriculum. Monitors the use of the swimming pool; enforces safety rules. Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties such as answering phone, running errands, picking up supplies needed to activities, conducting classes, collecting fees, helping set up for classes, events, etc. Works under the general supervision of the Aquatics Specialist and/or Head Lifeguard or person assigned.
Education & Experience:
Must be at least 16 years old and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and/or working towards such in good standing. Must have skills and current certification in First Aid, CPR, AED and Life guarding (American Red Cross and YMCA).
