Supervise and participate in carpentry, bricklaying, cabinetmaking and maintenance activities. Work involves responsibility for supervision and performance of skilled tasks in the construction, alteration and repair of structures. Supervises carpenter crew. Makes cabinets, counters, window sashes, moldings and other wooden articles; lays brick, does cement work and finishing painting. Hangs and tapes sheetrock; glazes windows; installs insulation; prepares and paints wood surfaces; applies paint with sprayer, roller and brush; sets up scaffolding for paint jobs. Maintains records and prepares reports as needed on construction and repair activities.
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate from a high school with a diploma or GED equivalent, two years of experience in carpentry or related building trades; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to apply journey level carpentry skills to work projects; ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion in a reasonable time; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and vendors.
Must have a valid state driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
