Performs a variety of technical, administrative, and supervisory work in planning, budgeting, purchasing, research, analysis, payroll, time and attendance, and administrative support work in police administration. Coordinates and formulates the annual budget for the Police Department; maintains expenditure control by reviewing expenditures as related to line-item appropriations. Monitors recurring expenses. Manages payroll for all Department personnel, the accurate reporting of time and attendance, and all related accounting measures. Reviews all purchase requests; reviews bids to determine lowest and best bidder; prepares bid specifications. Prepares, coordinates and reviews grant application processes and grant management to ensure grant requirements are met.

Education and Experience:

Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent; Ten (10) years of experience in budget preparation and management, finance management, supervision of subordinates; Professional management training, specifically related to finance and personnel; and meets Civil Service Requirements.

Special Requirements:

Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older at time of hire; Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid State Driver’s License without record of suspension or revocation in any state; No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal histories within the past seven years; Must be bondable.
