A new Biloxi tradition: An Easter Egg drop

For years, Biloxi has become known for hosting a number of Easter Egg hunts and related events in the days and weeks leading up to Easter Sunday, but a new tradition will be launched this year: eggs falling from the sky.

Yep, you read that right.  A helicopter will drop more than 12,000 treat-filled eggs onto the field at MGM Park on Saturday, March 19. The drop is one of five Easter events taking place in Biloxi, beginning this weekend.

The March 19 egg hunt, made possible by the high-flying Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, will have three age groups: 10 a.m. for ages 2-4, 11 a.m. for ages 5-7 and noon for ages 8-10.

In addition to the egg hunts, activities outside the park will include games, bounce houses and more.   Admission is free but a wristband will be required for entry.

“This is a one of a kind Easter Egg grab,” said Biloxi Main Street Executive Director Kay Miller. “We have really great prizes, such as Easter baskets, movie tickets, Lynn Meadows passes, Biloxi Shuckers tickets, candy, and more.”

The event is a collaborative effort of the city, Biloxi Main Street, Biloxi Shuckers, Merit Health, Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, and Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.  To see the flyer, click here.
